Congratulations to Carissa Tipler for placing 2nd in State in the triple jump. She broke the school record with a jump of 39 feet, 5 inches. She was 2 inches shy of winning the State Championship.
Congratulations to Jazmine Burse for placing 10th in the State in the 100 meter hurdles. She broke the school record with a time of 15.57 seconds.

Congratulations to the Track Team on their victory yesterday over Hiram, East Paulding, and Douglas County. The boys placed first with a team score of 120, and the girls tied for 1st with Douglas County – scoring 93 points.
Carissa Tipler broke the 100 meter record previously held by Ansley Weatherford with a time of 12.80 seconds.
Slade Williams broke the 800 meter record previously help by Madison Seawall with a time of 2 minutes and 4 seconds.
Slade also continues to break his 1 mile record with a time of 4 minutes and 44.25 seconds.
There were several other noticeable performances and numerous others who placed - they can be seen on the track and field website.

The Track Team competed well this weekend at the County Championship – both the boys and girls placed 2nd.
Jazmine Burse continues to break her own 100 meter hurdle record – recording a time of 16.27 seconds. Slade Williams also continues to do the same; finishing the 2 mile run in a time of 10 minutes and 13 seconds. There were several others who placed at the meet, and they will be announced when the official results are in.
We will have our final home meet on tomorrow March 29 beginning at 5:00. Hope to see you there.
The Track Team defeated Villa Rica on Tuesday. The girls defeated the Villa Rica squad by a score of 75 to 57, and the boys outpointed Villa Rica 69-66.
Top performer was Jacob Sturino who placed 1st in the pole vault with a jump of 11 feet, 6 inches – broking his previous school record.
The County Championship will be tomorrow at North Paulding beginning at 4:00. Hope to see you there.
The Track Team performed well at the Lions Invitational this weekend. The Girls team placed 6th and the boys placed 2nd.
Placing for the girls were Carissa Tipler – 3rd in the 100 and 200 meter run. Carissa also placed 1st in the triple jump – breaking her previous school record mark with a jump of 36 feet, 10 inches. Taylor Stroup also placed 1st and broke her previous school record with a pole vault of 9 feet.
Placing for the boys were Joe Gilgan – 2nd in the 800 meter run. Brandon Brabham – 2nd in the high jump. Brandon also came in 1st in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.62 seconds – breaking the previous school mark held by Matt Allen. Steven Johnson placed 2nd in the 100 meter run and 1st in the 200 meter run. Tyler Holcomb placed 1st in the shot put. Slade Williams took 1st place in the 1 mile run with a time of 4 minutes and 44 seconds – breaking his previous school record mark. Slade also broke the 2 mile record previously held by Madison Seawell with a time of 10 minutes and 25 seconds.
We will have a home meet today vs. Villa Rica and the County Championship will be on Friday at North Paulding. Look forward to seeing you there.
The Track Team place 8th out of 22 teams this weekend at the Woodland Invitational.
Placing for the girls were Kylie Willingham – 8th in the discus; Taylor Stroup placed 7th in the pole vault. Jamzen Burse placed 8th in the 300 meter hurdles. Jazmen also placed 6th in the long jump and 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles. Carissa Tipler placed 4th in the 200 meter run and 2nd in the 400 meter run.
Placing for the boys were Brandon Brabham and Xavier Sales who tied for 5th in the high. Brandon Brabham also came in 4th in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Steven Johnson, Chandler Burks, Joe Gilgan, and Cameron Parker placed 3rd. Steven Johnson took 3rd place in the 200 meter run. Steven also came in 3rd in the 400 meter run with a time of 50.22 seconds – breaking his previous school record mark.
We will travel to Lithia Springs today and take on Villa Rica next Tuesday at home.

There were several records broken:
Jazmine Burse broke the long jump record previously held by Ansley Weatherford with a jump of 16 feet, 4 inches
Jazmine also broke the 100 meter hurdle record previously held by Jessica Peal with a time of 16.49
Taylor Stroup broke her previous mark of 8 feet with a jump of 8 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault
Also, Slade Williams broke the mile run record with a time of 4 minutes and 45 seconds (4:45). A mark previously held by Tyler Seawell.
