WELCOME TO 4TH GRADE!!!
I'm Violet Atcheson, and I'm so pleased to be able to teach at Allgood another year! I have been teaching since 1997 and was a substitute teacher for 2 years prior. My first year teaching was in 3rd grade at McGarity Elementary here in Paulding County. I'm proud to say I am an original "Allgood Gator" since my second year teaching I moved here to help open the school. I continued in 3rd grade, moving to 5th grade a few years later. I've been teaching 4th grade since 2008. I graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Education in 1997. I then went to Piedmont College to complete my Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001 and my Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007. I also completed my Gifted Education endorsement in 2012.
I'm married with 2 children, who both went to Allgood all 6 years. I love to travel, and I collect frogs. I also have a giant pig that was once used as a piggy bank that has been in all my classrooms since my first day teaching.
I encourage parents to visit the classroom so they can have a peek into a day in the life of their child. We work hard, but try to laugh even harder. As always, please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say hi!
Happy Learning!!! Violet Atcheson, Ed.S. |
