Here you will find announcements, updates, Moses news, important project dates and rubrics, etc.
As we begin our first quarter, please make sure to check your teacher's websites often. Make sure to check Infinite Campus to view your grades (and missing assignments). You can sign up for Infinite Campus (Parent Portal) by visiting the front office. You will need a specific password.
Please click on the Agendas and Homework link ( <---- to the left) to view the weekly activities and homework. Click on the resources icon to download project rubrics and checklists, PowerPoint Presentations, and other resources used in class.
Dates to Remember: For language arts: Word within a Word Quizzes will be every other week. Advanced classes have one each week. Book projects are due once a quarter. Advanced classes have one due every three weeks.
For social studies: Checkpoints, quizzes, and tests will be given periodically. Students can utilize class notes, review sheets, assignments, etc., to study for these.
Current Language Arts Unit:
Hatchet - Students are reading the book Hatchet in class. Through this novel study, students will be learning and mastering different Language Arts Common Core reading, writing, language, and speaking/listening standards. Students will write every day in their interactive journals (which are kept in the classroom). We will visit the Media Center every two weeks (every other Wednesday). ** Students are to take their library books to all of their classes each day.
Current Social Studies Unit:
Students are studying basic geography skills. They are learning the five fields of social studies (history, geography, economics, culture, and government, as well as how to apply these fields to real life experiences/examples. Basic map skills include: latitude/longitude, latitude zones, effects of climate and weather, landforms, etc. |
