Thank you for visiting the East Paulding High School web site.
As we are well into the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on our progress toward increased student achievement and school improvement.
At EPHS, our students continue to excel in a variety of areas inside and outside of the classroom. So far in 2012-2013, we are proud to hold the region 5AAAAA title for One Act Play, Girls Cross Country, and Football. We also have several senior student athletes who will be signing scholarships very soon. More region accolades are certainly in our future in other areas as we move through the various sports seasons.
Academically, the results of the Georgia High School Writing Test have just been released and 96.1% of the first time test takers at EPHS passed the test which is up from 92.3% last year. In addition, we have five students who made it to the state interviews for the Governor's Honors Program as well as several seniors who have received early acceptance to various universities for next fall.
Further, in our efforts toward school improvement, we have outlined and initiated several student recognition/reward programs and look forward to celebrating our students for character education, honor roll, attendance, as well as effort at East. We recently completed our second round of class meetings to share attendance, academic, and behavior information with all students. Attendance is slowly increasing over last year and students are aware of what they need to do to be more successful in the classroom. Be sure to check grades and attendance regularly in Infinite Campus!
If you have not taken the opportunity to join our active PTSA, I encourage you to do so. We have a very involved core group of PTSA officers who have worked hard to gain a 400% increase in membership this year. Plan to be a proud member of our PTSA and support their efforts for our students and teachers.
In addition, I hope that you are receiving our One Call Now announcements, group emails, and texts so that you can stay in touch with the fast-paced world of your high school.
I cannot possibly express the pride I have in our students, staff, and school community.
Everyone Achieves Success Together!
