We’ve had an exciting year at Floyd L. Shelton Elementary, and it’s hard to believe how fast this school year is flying by! As we move toward spring, we hope to see you at our upcoming events, including our chorus performance and PTA activities.
Our students have recently taken their second nine weeks Checkpoints and District Benchmark Assessments. Each of our grade level teams has used these results during grade level planning and collaboration to determine how to help our students master the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards. I’m very proud of the hard work our teachers and staff put into providing quality learning experiences for our students. And as always, I encourage our students to keep doing their “Personal Best.”
As we have done all year, remember that we ask that all visitors sign in at our front desk and get a visitor’s ID. We also want to make sure we preserve our valuable instructional time, and we appreciate our parents’ cooperation and understanding with this. To avoid interruptions, we ask that you pre-arrange visits to your child’s classroom or make appointments to meet with your child’s teacher.
While we are grateful for the support of all our parents, I do want to say a special thank you to our Watch DOGS dads. They have provided valuable assistance to us recently, especially during our holiday parties, and for this we are most grateful.
Thank you so much for all you do to help make Shelton an incredible school. Please feel free to let me know if I can be of assistance.
Yours in Education,
Jeff Robinson |
