PCSD BOE Appoints Cliff Cole as the New Superintendent

Dallas, GA (March 22, 2010) –   The Paulding County School District Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Cliff Cole as the new PCSD Superintendent beginning April 1, 2010.  Since 2007, Cole has been serving as Deputy Superintendent for the Paulding County School District.  “I am excited about this opportunity to serve the students of Paulding County.  I realize there are a lot of funding issues due to the economy.  I plan to keep the focus on improving classroom instruction for the students of Paulding County,” said Cole.  Throughout Cole’s career in Paulding County, he has seen a lot of growth and changes.

In 1997, Cole began his career in Paulding County serving as Assistant Principal at Hiram Elementary and New Georgia Elementary.  He then moved to Nebo Elementary as an Assistant Principal and then served as Principal at Shelton Elementary.  As a principal, Cole felt it was always important to know the students in your building and to be able to put yourself in the parents’ shoes.  In 2003, Cole began serving at the District Office as Director of Middle School Operations and as the Athletic Director for the District.  In 2005, Cole took on the role of Assistant Superintendent for Operations.

Before serving in Paulding County, Cole spent 10 years in Cobb County.  He worked as a teacher at Dickerson Middle School and then moved into administrative roles at Mabry Middle School and Hayes Elementary.

Cole earned his Bachelor of Science at Middle Tennessee State University.  He completed his Master of Education at West Georgia College and his Educational Specialist at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

“Cliff Cole has many years in education and service to our school district which led us to our decision to name Cliff Cole as the new Superintendent for the PCSD.  The Paulding County Board of Education is confident he will lead us through the difficult times that lay ahead while maintaining the level of instruction in the classroom,” said Kathy West, PCSD Board Chair.
